Companion Cube

Sides of cube:

1. Chain 25.

2. 1sc in each chain starting from second chain from the hook.

3. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each sc. Do this for 23 rows.

4. Chain 2. 1sc in the back of each loop for 1 row.

5. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each sc. Do this for 22 rows.

6. Finish off.

7. By crocheting in the back loops for one row in step 4, you created a corner. With the corner facing away form you, create a slip knot and insert it into the first stitch.

8. Chain 2. 1sc in the next 23 stitches. (Crochet only in the front loops for this row)

9. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each sc. Do this for 22 rows.

10a. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in the next 23 stitches only in the back loops.

10b. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each sc. Do this for 22 rows.

10c. Finish off.

11. Sew the edges together.

12. Chain 25.

13. 1sc in sc starting with the second chain from the hook.

14. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each sc. Do this for 23 rows.

15. Finish off.

16. Repeat steps 12-15 for the last side of the cube.

17. Sew one of the square pieces to one end of the cube.

18. Sew the second square piece. Leave one side of the second square piece open so you can sew on the details of the cube.

Circles in the middle of the cube faces (Make 6):

1. 6sc in magic circle.

2. 2sc in each sc.

3. 1sc, 2sc.

4. 1sc in next 2sc, 2sc.

5. 1sc in next 3sc, 2sc.

6. 1sc in next 4sc, 2sc.

7. Sew the circles on all 6 sides.

Heart (Make 6):

1. Chain 4.

2. 3 triple crochets in the first chain. (For the rest of the pattern, you are pretty much only working in the first chain.)

3. 3 double crochets in the first chain.

4. Chain 1. 1 triple crochet in first chain. Chain 1.

5. 3 double crochets in the first chain.

6. 3 triple crochets in the first chain.

7. Chain 3.

8. Slip stitch with first chain.

9. Finish off and sew onto the middle of the circles.

Pink lines (Make 12).

1. Create chains to attach onto the cube as shown in the picture.

2. Make sure that the lines are centered on each edge of the cube.

Corners of cube (Make 24).

1. Chain 10.

2. 1sc in each chain starting from the second chain from the hook.

3. Chain 1.  Turn work. 1sc in each sc. Do this for 2 rows.

4. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in next 6sc. Sc the next 3 stitches together.

5. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each sc.

6. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in next 4sc. Sc the next 3 stitches together.

7. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each sc.

8. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in next 2sc. Sc the next 3 stitches together.

9. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each sc.

10. Finish off. Sew onto the corners of cube.

Squares in between grey corners:

1. Chain 4.

2. 1sc in each chain starting from the second one from the hook.

3. Chain 1. Turn work. 1sc in each sc. Do this for 4 rows.

4. Sew onto cube.

Final steps:

1. Stuff cube and sew it closed 🙂
