Review: Psychic School Wars

There are a few full animes on YouTube and this was one I happen to watch one day. The first thing I noticed about this anime is that it is very bright and colorful. The vibrant colors really pulls you in. The movie is a bit slow as it revolves around the lives of students but it is still interesting in that it involves a psychic, Ryoichi. Ryoichi’s goal is to unlock the student’s psychic powers.

This movie is very confusing and it tries to make up for it with their amazing artwork. It doesn’t work, though, because the film doesn’t explain itself very well. It had too much high school drama and not enough science fiction. It falls flat despite the amazing graphics, which is the only thing I admired about the anime. The movie looks amazing and the artist made it look like a dream. The dreamy feel ties in with the play the students are practicing for their class, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. Perhaps that is why the film looks that way it does.

The artwork was the only way I kept watching it. I figured, it can’t look like this and be a terrible movie right? Wrong! The movie had a very weak connection between being psychic and time travel. It just wasn’t interesting enough. I can’t believe I watched the whole thing.

This is by far one of the worst time travel movie I’ve seen. If you haven’t seen The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, that’s a much better time travel movie. Click on the link to see my review!
