Review: Clinical

This is a Netflix original film about a psychiatrist who experiences a trauma while caring for a troubled teen. It was interesting when it first started. The movie is sort of a psychological thriller. At first I thought that it was one of those paranormal movies but as we watch it, it became more apparent that it wasn’t that type of film. The acting was fine but the writing is horrible. They made the main character into this emotionally invested medical professional who wasn’t professional at all. It got a rating of 5.2 on IMdb and I thought that it should have gotten below a 5.

I really wouldn’t recommend this for those looking for a movie with substance and a good story. It just doesn’t make sense that they wrote the main character to be this amazing psychiatrist only to have her make really horrible medical decisions. Why would you go to your patient’s house? Why would you believe the patient when he says that he was sleep walking and that’s why he was at your house? She’s just a really bad character or the writer didn’t do their research well.

Audience: MA
Scariness factor: 5
Acting: 7
Story: 3
Direction: 5
Would I recommend: No

*Note: Based on a scale from 1 to 10. 1 being the worst and 10 being the best you could get in a category.

  1. I want to watch this on Netflix, as it is a new addition…. but your review is giving me some second thoughts ….. I don’t really have time to watch movies anymore, so when I do find the time, it should be worth my while. Thanks for the review.
